Create a relationship that encourages openness

Is it easier to be consumed in the life I want to live and and not pay attention to the life I have, especially to those who are most close to me. The balance between the external and internal worlds we balance and manage on a daily basis can overshadow how life moves swiftly and quickly through the lives of our loved ones. If I could go back a few years ago or 10 years ago, I would wish I'd take more time to be myself and to build a relationship of openness and encouragement. It's crazy how we can share our deepest fears and our entire worlds with friends, yet, within our own family, we are so afraid to share those secrets. Share your secrets and fears with your family, regardless of the situation, they will be there for you.

First day testing out Canon EOS M6 (with 11-22m lens)

We are beginners of photography, but since I am working to build/start my YouTube channel, I invested in the Canon EOS M6 camera recently. I still have my Nikon T3 from years ago, but I never put in the time and effort to learn how to use it quickly. I feel very excited with our new M6 as it's a greater starter camera for people like myself, who wants videos and photos to be beautiful without a lot of efforts. Over time, I would like to learn more about photography because I love looking at beautiful Instagram profiles and YouTube videos. Who doesn't? :) What do you think about the Canon EOS M6? Are you a fan of Canon, Nikon, Sony, or Fuji? Below is our first Vlog with Olive using the new camera!

Restarting my blog after 4 years!

It's been almost 4-5 years since I first started this blog! I don't think anyone is using Blogger anymore, it's all about social media, especially Instagram and Youtube, at least for me. I'm married now and we have our baby, 8.5 years old German Shepherd Olive! Through this blog, I'll be sharing my life again and documenting amazing, wonderful, and tough moments because life may only get more difficult as our parents are older and we ourselves, age with time.

It's been x days of running

This was me roughly 3 weeks ago when I first embarked on my journey to run everyday for 100 days. Before this project, it was difficult for me to complete a 1 mile run or jog, without huffing and puffing, but after 3 weeks, I can make it to 1 mile without wanting to give up. I used to be quite jealous of people who sweat a lot at the gym because I did not have the perseverance to run to the point where I would sweat, I just gave up too easily. People say if you fully commit yourself to something for 100 days, you'll blown yourself away, you might even be really good at it. To be honest, I have not run everyday since I have started, but I have done the best I can within the last 3 weeks. I should be up to 5 miles/run now, but this is the breaking point. I've jogged up to 4 miles (with a walking break after every mile), but my mentality hasn't been there recently. I run at our local community center and I would watch The Big Bang Theory  or Modern Family  as...

"Oh, the Places You'll Go" -go somewhere everyday!

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...” - Dr. Seuss "Oh, the Places You'll Go"

2014 New Year Goal #1: Run for 100 days to be able to run 13 miles (half marathon)

Yes, I've decided to join  +giveit100  and run everyday, so by the end of 100 days, I can run 13 miles in one sitting, as if it's a half marathon. I have always hated running, I don't have the patience for it. Most importantly, I did not think I could run a mile without stopping and this will be a great challenge for me because I did not think I was capable. I will commit to running everyday and practice the discipline to follow through because I want to feel healthy, energetic, and look better! miles per day/schedule Start date: 1/4/2014 Week 1- 2 miles Week 2- 3 miles Week 3- 4 miles Week 4- 5 miles Week 5- 6 miles Week 6- 7 miles Week 7- 8 miles Week 8- 9 miles Week 9- 10 miles .....feeling tired, don't give up! Why does your small business fail?

+Seth Godin  forms words as if they were images that go beautifully together to make you think a bit more. What marketing mistakes do most small businesses make? They believe in the mass market instead of obsessing about a micro market. They seek the mass market because it feels harder to fail--there's always one more stranger left to bother. It's the small, the weird, and the eager that will make or break you. Source: +Inc " Seth Godin: Why small businesses fail " by +Geoffrey James

2014 How to kick your new year resolutions in the butt: Change habits + learn something new every 100 days

"2 out of 3 of us make new year resolutions. Only 8% keep them"-- Forbes Some ideas for 2014: Change habits " Instead of focusing your resolution on stopping your bad habits (eating too much, smoking, not spending enough time with family), think of them as learning to do something new (eating healthier; finding new ways to calm and de-stress; discovering shared activities that appeal to you and your family). "--Erika Andersen, Forbes Learn something for 100 days Karen Cheng learned to danced for 100 days (well 365 days) I believe what makes her story more motivational for the rest of us is this is part of who she is, her happiness is "getting better at skills."  After watching the video, the more I learn about her and how awesome, creative, and smart she is, the more I'm inspired. She is not afraid to fail, she likes to try different things etc..because it's a continuous pattern of who she is as an individual. ...

My love for makeup

It's never been easier to document visually anything than now.  Mobile devices makes the process faster, easier, and "sharable." I'm happy  +Google+   has made it easier than ever to have all your photos from years ago in one place, at least if you have Android. As today is a new year, looking back at photos of years ago remind us of what we loved and what we aspired to be. Below are a compilation of pictures of my "journey" to practice makeup, not only to look and feel better, but it gives me a chance to be creative. Learning makeup brings out the artistic qualities in me and indeed, it can be a great distraction during stressful times.  My interpretation from Black Swan (the movie) Yup, I even started a YoutTube channel! I only knew how to apply 2 colors, over and over every day, on every single look. I experimented with different mascaras for us girls who have no lashes. (Limpy, thin, lashes that don't curl= waterproof ...
