My love for makeup

It's never been easier to document visually anything than now.  Mobile devices makes the process faster, easier, and "sharable." I'm happy  +Google+   has made it easier than ever to have all your photos from years ago in one place, at least if you have Android. As today is a new year, looking back at photos of years ago remind us of what we loved and what we aspired to be. Below are a compilation of pictures of my "journey" to practice makeup, not only to look and feel better, but it gives me a chance to be creative. Learning makeup brings out the artistic qualities in me and indeed, it can be a great distraction during stressful times.  My interpretation from Black Swan (the movie) Yup, I even started a YoutTube channel! I only knew how to apply 2 colors, over and over every day, on every single look. I experimented with different mascaras for us girls who have no lashes. (Limpy, thin, lashes that don't curl= waterproof ...

I tried to be a model! =) Extreme eyes

I went outside of my comfort zone and tried something different with my look and I had just dyed my hair. I tried to emmulate this look, including the pose from the original model. I tried contouring the nose, exaggerate the cheekbones, and failed at the pose because I didn't know my hands were the opposite side. It was so much fun to step outside of my comfort zone!*P.S. if you look closely at my nails, you can tell there are color smearings around my finger- I used my Smashbox cream eyeliner for my nail colors ! =) Original picture   Can you see the contouring of the nose?

1 YouTube video all make up artist should watch!

This is one of my top favorite YouTube makeup video from Make Up Atelier Paris because the makeup artist is amazing! You have to watch to see how the model's face was able to transformed! Eyebrows are reshaped, well moved and replaced, there's depth and definition in the eyes, cheekbones sculpted, and it's incredible! I'm not a makeup artist, but I do love watching makeup videos and learning for myself, if you are a makeup artist, this is a must watch!   This next video is from the same makeup school in Paris- the application of the color (blue) is just so beautiful!

Gaga over Daisies

What is the most creative "thing" you have done with makeup? Last night I attempted a spider stuck in the window, but it wasn't anything really creative, but it does sound strange doesn't it? Spider stuck, no, entangled, in a window.  Although it wasn't great, my camera's flash is not working and I was unable to capture it. Have you seen this video with the Lady Gaga inspired makeup? All the black theatrical paint seems so thick, how'd they actually take it off after the tutorial?  I love the idea of using the mask as a template to dab on glitter and loose eyeshadow powder, so creative.  This video is very popular on YouTube and I can imagine why. I was really into the makeup artist's hair, I don't think I can ever pull anything like that off.   It seems odd that since this is a makeup tutorial done by a professional makeup artist, the model  really does have beautiful features, but her acne was very appearant, too much shiny makeup,  but those...
