Tuck it in

Tuck in your shirt: Day 5 I've been tucking in my shirt since I was middle school,  starting with these long and big shorts to my knees.  I guess it's just the right thing to do with a shirt rather to let it hang out? There are very pretty belts now that can limit the act of tucking in a shirt- I guess my brain was so used to it that I didn't even realize it was even so. It's been very cold lately, I always feel too cold after work while running to the parking lot. My mother and I created a plan that included an extra pair of socks, a tiny blanket ( sometimes finding parking to the house can take a while), a beanie to keep me warm before and after work, and of course, remembering to turn on the heat in the car (I always forget we have such warming devices nowadays). Warm, call me, Hang warm =) *har har* Slacks : unknown store (?) Dress shirt: Steven & Barrrys Shoes: Payless (super comfortable thanks to TrinnyGrinny =) Jacket: Express I've been able

I'm grateful for work =)

The weather has been sooo cold here in Northern California, much colder than last year =(  I don't think I can ever imagine myself living anywhere but the warm states, unless its New York and there's no need to drive with the subway/cabs. Ay, with the 30 for 30 challenge, I have been so uncreative, but now that I'm starting to work, I'll be more out of the box of my typical self and practice wearing different makeup at the same time.  I'm so grateful because I finally found a part time job and after the first day of work (yesterday), I was so tired and end up sick. From now on, I will make sure to keep myself warm and wear tons of layers of clothing because it is so easy to get sick in this type of weather. One of most dislike situations is being sick- it just makes you feel helpless and weak. I'm gong to make sure I work extra hard and always do my best because I'm so grateful to have found it. How do people work full time, go to school, and still raise

I can't get out of my jeans and converse

DAY 2 The most difficult challenge within the 30 for 30 is that I cannot get out of my blue jeans & converse, I'm so comfortable and use to them. I think this challenge will be easier once I start working soon, I'm still inside my fashion comfort. Day 2, I even tried to wear the shoes and added the necklace so the outfit will look a bit more different than what i'm used to wearing =) DAY 3  (excuse the wrong labeling on the pictures & weird dates) Happy late Thanksgiving =)

Hustling 30 for 30 challenge and a makeup look every 3 days! =)

A very good friend and family member of mine is doing this challenge, "30 for 30"- a challenge to use 30 items, including shoes to create different outfits, for well, 30 days without shopping. I really love going to her blog Piggly Winks to look at her new outfits and accessories. They are all so creative and beautiful and of course, stylish! I've never really been into fashion because I never really had money to spend on clothes. Through Nancy, I found Kinsey In Kinsey's Closet and I think her blog is great! It shows that an average female's body can look beautiful in all her wonderful outfits! (not to mention I love her confidence) When I was in elementary, middle, and part of high school, my brother and mom would take me shopping at Sears and I never really picked my own clothes. Well, before my family immigrated to Vietnam, my parents were taylors and my mom would make my clothes for me, very pretty clothes! I had 1 or 2 dress suits, I remember I had

No blue, smokey black eyes instead

I would love to try green contacts in the future For this look, I used Revlon Colorstay Foundation and I didn't like it. I didn't like it when I used it before and I had thought, I can try it again.  The coverage is relatively in the medium range, but it just appears a bit thick and cakey not a nice of a texture.  Maybe makeup artists love this foundation, but maybe it is me, not applying it correctly. I did this about a week ago, I'm not sure if I applied moisturizer and primer or not- maybe that's why. Or maybe because of the color I chose, it's too dark for my skin tone? The "Stippling brush" I had used isn't a real stippling brush and it took a while to stipple, so I just applied this w/a normal foundation brush.  I always wished for world peace as a younger kid. I was trying on some fake individual lashes, they look a bit scary? Always try to apply makeup in natural light because indoor lights play trick

I tried to be a model! =) Extreme eyes

I went outside of my comfort zone and tried something different with my look and I had just dyed my hair. I tried to emmulate this look, including the pose from the original model. I tried contouring the nose, exaggerate the cheekbones, and failed at the pose because I didn't know my hands were the opposite side. It was so much fun to step outside of my comfort zone!*P.S. if you look closely at my nails, you can tell there are color smearings around my finger- I used my Smashbox cream eyeliner for my nail colors ! =) Original picture   Can you see the contouring of the nose?

Practicing makes perfect, repetition with practice is even better I had told myself I'd dedicate an hour every day to practicing makeup applications but the past couple of weeks have been so busy for me that I haven't been able to- but then whenever I do practice, I always try the same groups of colors on the eyes and same techniques. My goal is next time I practice, I will have a YouTube video on and practice along with the guru as well. You assume once you watch something, you can replicate the same colors and techniques after- but not I. I do not want Beyoumakeupshop's customers nor my friends, or people I know to think I am always about promoting our own products. I really do try to find different ways to use the products, research on the products and reviews, and I do try to test on myself prior to adding them. I have not tested nor use everything in the Shop, but hopefully over time I will be able to. Why customers' reviews are important to a business I bel
