Tips that work: Curled lashes that last all day!

I've tried this technique (video below) many times-  my lashes were AMAZI N GLY  longer & the curls actually STAYED UP after many hours! I'm so in love with this technique, it' s life changing for someone with short and sparse lashes like mine that NEVER curled. I gave up mascara before because there was no point in putting them on if they will flake down in 5 seconds. They have  never been this lifted, long, or stay up past half an hour! I'm in love =) What you need to do: 1. Watch this video that showed me how to curled my lashes! (Thank you gossmakeupartist!) Remember to 1. Curl your lashes for a good amount of time, (9~10 seconds)-  hold the eyelash curler down the curls in place 2. First coat of mascara should be light coat 3. Let lashes completely dry before curling your lashes a 2nd time 4. Apply 2nd coat (use spooley to spread out the lashes and keep them from clumping) 2. Products used (My eyelash pad somehow go...

I tried to be a model! =) Extreme eyes

I went outside of my comfort zone and tried something different with my look and I had just dyed my hair. I tried to emmulate this look, including the pose from the original model. I tried contouring the nose, exaggerate the cheekbones, and failed at the pose because I didn't know my hands were the opposite side. It was so much fun to step outside of my comfort zone!*P.S. if you look closely at my nails, you can tell there are color smearings around my finger- I used my Smashbox cream eyeliner for my nail colors ! =) Original picture   Can you see the contouring of the nose?

5 Wet n Wild lipstick swatches, why customers' reviews are important to a business, WIN free eyeshadow!

Practicing makes perfect, repetition with practice is even better I had told myself I'd dedicate an hour every day to practicing makeup applications but the past couple of weeks have been so busy for me that I haven't been able to- but then whenever I do practice, I always try the same groups of colors on the eyes and same techniques. My goal is next time I practice, I will have a YouTube video on and practice along with the guru as well. You assume once you watch something, you can replicate the same colors and techniques after- but not I. I do not want Beyoumakeupshop's customers nor my friends, or people I know to think I am always about promoting our own products. I really do try to find different ways to use the products, research on the products and reviews, and I do try to test on myself prior to adding them. I have not tested nor use everything in the Shop, but hopefully over time I will be able to. Why customers' reviews are important to a business I bel...

Fall Night 2010 Look (my most improved makeup work so far)

I'm blogging crazy tonight. I've been practicing with makeup once again. Eyebrows One problem I have is I don't know how to fill in my brows, I have watched many YouTube gurus' tutorials on the art of filling in brows, but I can't do it yet. Is it because all the hairs are growing in one way and they should be trimmed more? Face Primer & foundations stippling brush & method   New thing I've tried is mixing my Rimmel's Fix (left) & Perfect Face Primer & my Missha BB cream #23 together (right). BB creams are great because they are suppose to help with blemishes and it's good for your skin, yet the color choices are rather limited, and well, it comes off with a "white cast." it's one of the recent hottest products in Asia. Therefore I mixed it with my Fix & Perfect (left) to give it some color, mattify the skin, and to even out the skin tone.   Why I rarely wear foundations Like I've mentioned in my pr...

Which will help your eyelashes to grow longer? The result of Castor Oil vs. Sweet Oil with Almond

Sweet Oil With Almond vs. Castor Oil Which product won in the race for naturally enhancing the growth of my eyelashes within a time frame of 3 weeks? My eyelashes after applying both for 4 days (Left eye: Sweet Oil w/Almond vs. Right eye: Castor Oil) 3 weeks later...the results: Now I actually look like I have eyelashes growing out of my eyes, like the way eyes are suppose to be=) WHOOO!!! Prior to using these 2 products, my lashes were rather sparse and very short; not to mention thin.  Even after applying mascaras, they didn't really look like much of anything because they always droop down anyways.  I realized it was the eyelash curler I was using (Revlon, I think) sucked and did not do much. Even after I curled them, the lashes would droop down again. Until one day, Xteener from Youtube stated that she heats her eyelash curler with her blow dryer and that is what I have been doing since then (ELF's eyelash curler for $1.00 is a great product). This trick of heati...

A beginner bringing beauty to the eyes =)

I am merely a beginner in the world of makeup beautification.  I came into the makeup world a bit more late than other women and most of the blogs that I am following and learning from.  I have been dedicating some time to practice before sleeping and or early in the morning so that I can improve my skills and play with different colors and texture; kind of like painting or coloring a picture. This collage include some of the eye shadow colors and looks that I have been practicing. I try to take pictures of them and ask for feedbacks from others. I used to be afraid of criticism, but now, I am trying to not fear criticism, but be it's colleague.   Like I said, I'm a  beginner -) but we all have to start somewhere right? Other than special events and and those random days, I still am very much a tomboy at heart.  Some of the colors may resemble each other because the camera does whiten out the vibrancy of them but they are all different.  Most of the ti...
